Gal Shmueli


Gal Shmueli spent 26 years with the elite technology unit 81 of the IDF and was the pioneer and founder of the Cyber technology program in the IDI and IDF. For the last 15 years of his military service Gal served as the CTO for Cyber Technologies at the IDI and holds the Rank of Colonel, having managed 700 engineers and professionals to work on dozens of innovative cyber R&D projects from inception to deployment.

For his efforts and achievements over the years he has received several awards for excellence and innovation, among them the prestigious Israeli Defense Award. After retiring from the military in 2016 Gal has been actively involved in Israel’s high-tech ecosystem serving as an entrepreneur, advisor, and CTO to companies in the areas of Machine learning, Cyber and Cloud.

Gal holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technion, Israel Institute for Technology, and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.

He lives in Or-Yehuda with his wife, has three children and enjoys cooking, scuba diving, hiking, and movies but most of all loves technology.
